Ground Reality Times is being built around verified, accountable and public-interest journalism. This policy sets the editorial standards expected across print, digital, video and field reporting.
Verification first
Material facts should be checked against reliable primary or attributable sources wherever reasonably possible. Claims, images, documents and user-generated material should not be presented as verified until sufficient checks have been completed.
Fairness, context and attribution
Reports should distinguish fact from allegation, opinion and analysis. Relevant responses should be sought where a report materially concerns a person or organisation, and quotations or sourced information should be attributed accurately.
Editorial independence
Advertising, sponsorship, commercial relationships or political access should not silently determine editorial conclusions. Sponsored or promotional material should be identified so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work.
Public interest and harm
Editors should balance the public value of publication against avoidable harm, especially when reporting on children, victims, private individuals, sensitive personal information and developing investigations.
Corrections
Material errors should be corrected transparently and promptly in accordance with the GRT Correction Policy.
